The North Side Mills parcel (19 acres) in Ettrick (5 minutes from Route 95) comes with commercial and residential high land overlooking 3200 feet of spectacular scenic and historic river waterfront. The commercially zoned section next to Campbell's Bridge has unparalleled visibility and importance as the entrance to and first impression of Southern Chesterfield County.
The Battersea Manufacturing Co. Parcel on the south side of the river in Petersburg begins about a half mile upstream from Campbell's Bridge, just above the North Side Mills dam. It extends upstream (west) for about 3/4 of a mile with 4200 feet of riverfront, and consists of Mill Site, a long strip of land along the river, the dam, and part of an island. This 11.5 acres tract is ideally suited for a waterfront park, perhaps connected to a developed adjacent parcel.
Also available are all the islands (about 7 acres) from Campbell's bridge for about a mile upstream, including Piney, Broken, and Long Islands.
The Appomattox river is 137 miles long. 6 miles, starting with this property and extending upstream, were designated a Virginia State Scenic River for outstanding scenery, history, geologic and natural features and white water rapids.
